Mammoth Melting Sugar (snow pea)

These are among the largest available snow peas at 10-13cm (4-5"). While they only grow 1.2m (4'), they are high yielding, productive growers that require a trellis.

Growing

Plant in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked and sow again mid July for a fall crop. The success of a fall crop will depend on the weather. Plant 2.5cm (1") deep, 2-7cm (1-3"). Seeds sprout in 7-14 days.

  • Optimal soil temperature is between 10-20°C
  • Space plants 15cm (6"") apart
  • Matures in 70 days
  • The smaller the bean, the more tender they are
  • Only pre-soak the seeds if you have dry soils
