Yarrow

This yellow flowered Yarrow grows to a height of 120 cm (47") and is an essential for any garden.

  • Cutting up the stalks to add to the compost pile raw or as a 'tea' at end of season speeds up the process
  • It is highly drought resistant and perfect for Xeriscaping
  • Its scent both repels aphids, but attracts beneficial predatory insects
  • Zone 3-10
  • Sow on the surface of the soil, indoors 8-10 weeks before planting out. Optimal soil temperature for germination is between 15-28°C but note germination varies wildly from anywhere between 10-100 days to sprout! Bottom heat helps speed up this process
  • The plant should be divided every 3-4 years as well as cut down in autumn
