Blue Lake

Blue Lake pole bean seeds produce a stronger flavoured bean than the bush variety. Pods are 15-18cm (6-7") long, straight, and stringless. A trellis is required for this bean.

Growing

Can be started indoors or sown directly between late-May to the end of June as long as the soils are warm. Plant 2-5cm (1-2") deep, 5-8cm (2-3"). Seeds sprout in 8-16 days depending on conditions.

• Optimal soil temperature is between 21-32°C
• Space plants 15cm (6") apart
• Matures in 70 days
• Very long harvest window so long as the vines are continually picked
